Developmental Methodology

This initiative focuses on creating new research methodologies related to problems in child development and supports CHGD-related researcher.  The term “research methods” is broadly defined and is not limited to statistical techniques though they will make up a major concentration.  Methodological research topics include:

• New developments in latent growth curve and latent class analysis

• Development of new methodology of existing paradigms (ERP, fMRI, IAT, etc.) so they can be applied to problems of development.

• Creation of new mathematical models related to development (agent-based, complex systems, dynamic analysis)

• Creation of new methods for merging multiple dependent variables and data sets (e.g., merging genetic, fMRI, and behavioral data sets to answer cutting-edge research questions in development)
